A 60-Hour Power Outage and 153 Notifications Later
When traveling the way that we do, these things happen.
We woke up on Wednesday morning and there was no power. It was a bit strange because we had experienced many power outages in this part of Uganda since we arrived, but they were usually in the afternoon/evening time, and usually after or during a big rain.
Although our devices were fully charged in the morning, that evening we used everything up, including our extra battery pack. We plugged everything in before we went to bed, hoping that they would be charged in the morning, but that wasn’t the case.
The power still had not come back.
We went about our day and continued on with our painting. Our host told us that he had heard that power would be back on by that evening, so we hoped to get back to our online work and get things accomplished. However, that evening came and went, and still no power.
We now sat in the house in the dark.
8:00 pm came and there was nothing left to do but go to sleep. Or, at least lay down and try to go to sleep.
