Awe! Thank you so much for the mention and sharing my article! Any garden is a good garden in my books. I didn’t appreciate my grandma and mom teaching me to grow things until later in life. You have passed on valuable and life saving information to your girls, they can’t unlearn that. I’m sure you will be proud of your garden and all it taught them, despite what you think are it’s short comings.
I always say that gardening is one big science experiment. You have to go into it knowing that some things just won’t work. Even we anxiously awaited our radishes to bear fruit and nothing happened but a bunch of greenery on top and nothing below. It is just the way it goes.
But you are contributing to the earth, the birds and bees and insects. And it sounds like you are doing it in a very ecological way which is the best part. No matter what, it is all good! New York could use more of you, I’m sure:)
