Great post! I know that feeling of being in places before the hoards of people descended on them. 3 places stand out for me. Bali in 1994. Nepal in 1996. Vietnam in 2008. All were not really discovered yet and I got to see them in their raw states which was amazing. Ubud still had dirt streets and the himalayas had just gotten electricity! Truly traditional living! Thanks for sharing your experience in Peru. I have not been yet but it is certainly on my list!
