Haha this is great. We also learned those phrases you mentioned while we were in Bulgaria the last time for three months. My partner is a language nerd and learned more than that as well. We are headed back in March for another 3 months. I see in the comments that you want to check out Varna. You really should, it is certainly one of our favorite cities in the country and will likely be where we spend the most time when we go back. For future reference, we have found that most people under 30 speak at least some English. At least that has been our experience.
