We Hit a Breaking Point

I want to preface this post by saying that this has been a very hard post for me to write. Usually, words come out of my brain and through my fingers with relative ease, but this time I have struggled with ways to try and get my point across without sounding spoiled and privileged. To be clear, Chris and I are really simple people. We don’t need airs and graces and all we really want to do is fit into the society that we are in, learning as much as we can about the local culture. We are also more than fine with living very close to the land, and not having many modern-day, ‘western world’ conveniences.

I also don’t like writing about bad situations and prefer to keep things upbeat and happy. My aim is to spread love and joy around the world, and I don’t like to dwell in the negative aspects of life. But of course, some days are just not good ones, and as it is all part of our story, I feel it necessary to share what we have just gone through.

*Note: In no way do I mean this post to be slanderous or talking badly about others. It is simply our real experience. To protect the place and the people I have taken names out or have replaced them with another. I don’t want anyone to get a bad reputation from this.
