How To Get Free Accommodation While Traveling
It’s not as hard as you think!
As full-time travelers, we need to make our money stretch as far as possible. Of course, accommodation is one of the most expensive parts of our life, and it is impossible to pay hotel rates each night, at least it is for us.
Obviously, the cost of hotels does vary with each country that we visit. Some are cheap and may cost just $10-$20/night, which makes it affordable, but in other places, it is much more.
Statistics say that travelers spend 30% of their budget on accommodation.
But what if you could cut this part out altogether? Or at least drastically reduce it.
Ways that we secure free accommodation!
#1. Housesitting
We signed up for a housesitting website only three months after we decided to sell all of our things to travel full time, back in 2017.
(Please note the above is a referral link and we will benefit from you clicking it and signing up for housecarers.)
At the time, we thought it may take a year, or more, to even find a gig. People had told us that it is extremely hard to get housesitting gigs, and the competition is fierce. So, you can imagine our surprise when a lady messaged US a month after signing up, to see if we were interested in housesitting right on the beach in Costa Rica later that year!

This gig is what gave us the date to start traveling. Before that, we had just thought that we would take it slowly with getting rid of our things, but after getting this job, we suddenly had a date and a goal, which I know helped us to keep motivated and move forward with our plans.
