I actually sat in the car in the back seat, waiting for my parents to come out so we could get to the ceremony, and looked at the forest and thought ‘this is what they mean when people say they want to run away before the wedding.’ I actually envisioned in my mind my white dress floating amongst the trees as I ran through them. I knew as well. My knees were almost literally knocking together and I was shaking like a leaf as I approached my husband to be. So much so that he asked me if I was okay. I was not okay. In retrospect I can see that I got married to please others. It was never for me.

Thanks for sharing this raw story, Greyson. It’s amazing the things we do to ourselves to make peace with others. When all along our instincts know the true way we should be heading.
