I can definitely relate to what you have written. My parents sold my childhood home shortly after I left for college and they built their dream home. Despite it not being my home, it was home for when I visited. Now they are in a senior home they have no room for me at all. I never pictured a scenario like that and it does make me feel like I don’t have a place to return to somehow. So strange.
