I Made $5 Less In September Than In August — Why I’m Not Crying The Blues
I’ve never seen so many articles with people complaining about their earnings.
It’s true, I have not seen so many people complaining about their earnings since I joined Medium in January of this year.
Even some of the top writers that I admire barely earned more than me in September.
I find that very hard to believe.
I don’t know what is happening. I haven’t been here long enough to understand the changes in the algorithm, or how the glory days of Medium are gone, as many say.
I reported my earnings for the first 6 months of being in the partner program, March-August, and decided that that is all that I would do. I wasn’t going to write anything about my September earnings, but when I saw all of the other articles coming to the surface, I figured I would get my two cents in.
In September I made $5 less than in August. While it bothers me that I am not steadily improving my earnings each month, I can also see that based on what most people are saying, I should be thankful for this amount.
