I Refuse To Go Down the Rabbit Hole Of Doom and Gloom

It’s a very slippery slope.

We are currently traveling in Bulgaria. The past 10 days have been a bit of a holiday for us as we had a friend visiting us from Germany, so we took the time to enjoy his company and take a break from most of our online work.

At one location, we were staying at a really cool hostel which is still seeing its share of travelers, despite the fact that summer is supposed to be over. I say ‘supposed to be’ because it is still well over 20 degrees and yesterday we went to the beach and people were suntanning and swimming in the Black Sea.

Of course, everybody is happy that it is so warm, and with it being Sunday, the families were out in full force. It’s actually quite perfect because the weather is gorgeous, but the crowds of tourists aren’t here.

A win-win for us.

However, we also know full well that this weather is not ‘normal’, whatever that means anymore, and there are dire environmental consequences when the weather is like this. Bulgaria is experiencing droughts like many other European countries, and one can’t help but feel dread at the state of the planet these days.

This brings me back to this super cool hostel that we stayed in.
