I would suggest quieter islands like Maui and Kauai for a more authentic Hawaii holiday. Oahu is too crazy. That being said I think Hawaii has been ruined by over tourism and Americanization. If you travel to places like Fiji or Tonga you will see how much the culture in Hawaii has been stripped away. It’s sad really.
