It is very difficult to be seen as just another human being that happens to be in a country that isn't theirs, instead of a walking ATM or a way for somebody to make money. It is difficult to make meaningful connections in many places because of having the foreigner status, and it does get exhausting. Sadly, many tourists ruin it for others. But it is what it is and there isn't much we can do about it. We try to stay away from tourist areas. It helps a lot.
