It's nice to hear that Kona hadn't changed much since you were there in the 70's and 80's Jerry. I find it difficult to return to many places as they are never the same as I remember them, usually because of tourism development. Love that tree! Glad it was still standing! It will outlive us all if nobody cuts it down:)
