Sadly there isn’t much you can do because you won’t change him. Just keep spreading your light. It’s all you can control! I have heard appalling things from Americans also (Canada is not innocent here either.) But telling people we are Canadian definitely shifts the perspective of who we are as a first impression. A sad reality of the destruction that the US has wreaked on the world, unfortunately.
