Thanks for your comment, Shannon. In all honesty, ‘retirement’ is a bit of a western concept and plays into the capitalist model that keeps people working jobs they don’t like and feeding into the machine of industrialized societies. The way I see it, if we build up income streams through doing things we are passionate about, they will continue serving us even when we are old.

I will still write when I’m later in life because I love doing it. I will still make art also. I will always create and therefore can always make money. It doesn’t have to be difficult or hard to make money.

So, no. We don’t have a retirement savings and don’t give it much thought. We live in the moment and focus each day on what we need to do to get to the next one. Worrying about a future that we have no idea about is living in fear. We try to do that as little as possible.
