The Tragedy In Seoul Is Another Reason Why I Choose To Avoid Crowds
Too many people can lead to bad things.
Trigger Warning: This article may have some content that is upsetting for some people to read.
This isn’t my normal post, and I’m sorry to those that may turn to my writing for hope and happiness, but for one reason or another, I feel compelled to write about this tragedy.
First of all, I want to express my deepest condolences to the families that lost their loved ones in the tragedy in Seoul that unfolded over the weekend. Many people found themselves caught in a small place where there were simply too many people crowded in.
For those that aren’t aware of what happened, I encourage you to simply google it. There you will find harrowing accounts of people stuffed into small alleyways in a popular restaurant and bar section of Seoul. One account said that they could only see stacks of people's heads, some say 10 high, poking out of the end of a tight alley just 7 feet across.
One report says that people had called the police many times during the evening to report that the crowds were getting too large and out of control. Some even went out of their way to walk to the police station to tell them what was happening.
