This is great Scott. We felt the same way in Puerto Rico and saw lots of street art to support their struggles. I was shocked when we spoke to a local and found out that they can’t vote. It’s a terrible thing to be controlled like that. Not that voting seems to make many differences these days anyways.

We also stayed only in Old San Juan. But we did love the vibe there and the streets were adorable. But next time I would explore farther a field.

I also love your sentiment: On one hand it is the US, on the other, it is decidedly not. We absolutely adored the mix of cultures there. I can’t understand why all Americans wouldn’t just want to move there. Lol.
