We enjoyed Besiktas for nightlife. But there are bars all around the area you are staying in as well. Istanbul is a vibrant and happening city. You really can’t go wrong anywhere. As for the food, you will see it all in the windows as you pass by. Definitely try the pide and künefe. And the fish wraps that they sell down at the waterfront are cheap and delicious!
