Yes to this! We are actually teaching composting to people as we travel, you can read about it in one of my recent articles "Sowing the seeds of change." You did the right thing by adding nitrogen to your carbon. We actually flip our piles every 4 days. This keeps the pile super hot and things will break down much faster. In Uganda we had working compost in 4-6 weeks depending on the ingredients we put into it. Also, good job on feeding your plants first. Healthy and strong plants will be more resistant to disease naturally! Yay! I love fellow earth lovers:)
